This 'book' is published entirely on a double-CD, which contains the story and the sheet music in a PDF-file, as well as the soundtracks of the music. The story is in German.
A winter fairy tale for adults and children from about 7 years, in which the narrator Jack W. Franz tells how the first autumn and winter was upon the earth, after hundreds of years of just spring and summer.
The Jack Frost winter elf fights with his friends Eichenman and bear against the dark magic of Lady Melancholy.
This story tells how the evergreen conifers arose, what the first snowflake whispers, how sadness turns into joy and hope and many other secrets of winter.
Stefanie Bieber composed harp music for this story with a magical atmosphere that drags you into the magical world of the fairy tale characters.

A spring tale of Jack W. Franz with music for Celtic harp by Stefanie Bieber Continuation of 'Winterwaldnächte'
In the gray light rain in February, the winter king makes his way to take a walk into the valley, to seek its summer crown, which fell from his head in the snow on the shortest day of the year and rolled down into the valley. He is assisted in his search by the bumblebee Nectarz Sisi, who asks all the spring flowers, where the crown may have gone. Each kind of flower offers itself as hair accessories to replace the missing summer crown.
The ringing song of the crocus mixes with the powerful song of the forsythia and the daffodils exuberant rock. The tulips spread a exotic, mysterious sound and the elder sighs full of romance and passion. The music pieces accompanying this story are suitable for harp players with some playing experience.
The booklet comes with a CD of all instrumental pieces. They are recorded in two versions: A version in the original tempo, and a slow practice version, where you can hear both hands on separate channels.

This collection includes different level arrangements of international winter and Christmas music that Stefanie has collected and edited for her lessons.
When all pieces are examples for guidance from simple to intermediate level. Moreover, chord symbols added, so with the help of the harmony itself can improvise their own accompaniment.
The first part of the collection contains pieces that are arranged for solo harp .
In a number of pieces in the second part the harp is used as an accompaniment to a voice or a melody instrument. It is also possible to play the melody with the right hand and a left hand bass accompaniment.
The pieces in the third part are suitable for ensemble playing with two or three harps. A part has the melody, and all other parts are in harmony with the melody. Combinations of all parts are possible.
Not all pieces have fingering, because Stefanie has the opinion that it is best to determine your own fingerings.

A beautiful song written by Lui Collins, a well known New England folk singer. The words and melody are uplifting and appropriate for performance in all arenas – for enjoyment, for yourself or for an audience. It is said of Collins that she blends her original songs, dynamic readings of her poetry, and traditional banjo tunes, in an intimate conversation with her audience. This is a wonderful example of her work. The harp part is by Barbara Wright. It is simple, and can be played on a harp of 26 strings. In the key of D, the piece has a very basic accompaniment. Nondenominational, essentially the words speak of being blessed and grateful for life. You will enjoy this one! Full score included with a pull-out voice part. |

The accompaniments in this book are suitable for either piano or Irish harp but they were specifically written or adapted for the latter. Since making my first singing radio broadcast in Ireland at the age of sixteen, I accompanied myself on the Irish harp. Over the years my repertoire expanded to include songs from other parts of the world. This volume, Travels With My Harp offers a sprinkling of my favourite songs - songs I have performed many times in concert, on radio and on television, recorded on LP and CD.

This book contains twelve of the most lever-harp-friendly pieces from the three books of Dowland’s Songs & Ayres originally transcribed for voice and lute. The harp arrangements in this book, which are intermediate to advanced level with several lever changes in most of the pieces, were transcribed from the original lute tablature. Verlene has also added introductions, interludes and endings that incorporate the melody and accompaniment on solo harp. Words to all verses are given so that the melodies can be sung by the harpist or another singer, or they can also be played on a melody instrument. The melodies fit well on flute, violin or recorder, but could also be played by a second fully levered harp. A companion CD is available with all songs played on lever harp and sung by Verlene. Songs include: Awake, Sweet Love; Behold A Wonder Here; Can She Excuse My Wrongs; Come Again; Fine Knacks for Ladies; Flow My Tears; If My Complaints; Now, O Now I Needs Must Part; Shall I Sue; Sleep, Wayward Thoughts; Time Stands Still; White as Lilies Was Her Face. 34 pages |

This book will give you tools to play along with singers and other instrumentalists without needing to read and memorize music! The concept is the same as for learning folk guitar -- they only need to learn some chords and a few strumming or fingerpicking patterns, and away they go! So, why should guitar players get all the fun? Here at last is an approach to playing folk harp that is truly a folk style of learning. Although all the songs used for examples and practice in this book are from American and Celtic folk music, you can apply this to modern popular music as well. The book includes how to figure out the keys and lever settings for songs, and what to do about chords that are not "within the key." It also includes a fingerpicking "library" with 80 patterns in four different time signatures. There are 20 fun folk songs with lyrics and chords, not a single note to read. The book comes with a companion CD of all 20 songs to rehearse along with. Verlene sings and plays her Celtic harp in a variety of styles to give you the sense of playing along with other musicians and singers. Then you can take these fingerpicking patterns, add your own if you like, and bring your harp to the next sing-along or jam session in your own community! The songs in the book include: The Water is Wide; Down the River; Go Down Moses; Mockingbird Song; Fair and Tender Ladies; Barbara Allen; Wade in the Water; America, the Beautiful; Streets of Laredo; Star of County Down; Scarborough Fair; Midnight Special; Oh Danny Boy; Amazing Grace; Wayfaring Stranger; Cockles and Mussels; Water Come a Me Eye; Cat Came Back; Old Joe Clark; and John Henry. 62 pages |

|
This single volume contains all 20 transcriptions of what was played on the CD included with The Sing-Along Harper. The songs are transcribed for lever harp and voice (or any melody instrument). Chord names are also included. For those who would benefit from seeing the written notation and comparing that to what they hear on the CD, this can be a useful tool in learning how to make your own accompaniments using the fingerpicking patterns included in "The Sing-Along Harper." For those who are more comfortable with simply reading the notes, rather than learning how to play along with chords and patterns, this book has all you need! Complete songlist: The Water is Wide; Down the River; Go Down Moses; Mockingbird Song; Fair and Tender Ladies; Barbara Allen; Wade in the Water; America, the Beautiful; Streets of Laredo; and Star of County Down, Scarborough Fair, Midnight Special; Oh Danny Boy; Amazing Grace; Wayfaring Stranger; Cockles and Mussels; Water Come a Me Eye; Cat Came Back; Old Joe Clark; and John Henry. 81 pages. |

Carol Wood has created yet another super work for harp and voice, with several harp solos. From Carol: Mermaids and their kindred water spirits such as naiads, lorelei, and sirens are often musical creatures. They sing and even play harps or lyres in our myths, art, and poetry, like the nereids in Walter de la Mare’s "Sunk Lyonesse." A collection of harp music about mermaids, therefore, seemed like an attractive idea to me. I’ve used several "watery" musical devices, including parallel fourths, whole-tone glisses, and arpeggios built on diminished and half-diminished sevenths, to suggest the element in which mermaids live and play and sing. The "Little Blue Barcarolle" is somewhat different from the typical barcarolle, the rhythm of which is usually meant to suggest the gentle roll of a small boat. Here, the rhythm and the blues mode suggest, I hope, that mermaids are playfully rocking the boat. "Iona’s Mermaid" is based on the medieval story of a mermaid who wanted to be baptized by the monks living on the holy island of Iona. Though the poor mermaid swam round and round the island, the pious monks refused to baptize her, presumably because they believed a mermaid had no soul. "From the Rocks" is the kind of song that mermaids might sing to lure sailors onto the rocks that will destroy their ships. "The Forsaken Merman", by the Victorian poet Matthew Arnold, is a touching poem about a despondent merman and his children, left alone by the human woman who returns to her life on land. The Victorians were particularly fascinated by mermaids. Many painters of the period depicted them, including the late Pre-Raphaelite, J. W. Waterhouse. His painting "A Mermaid," is reproduced on the cover of this collection, by kind permission of the Royal Academy of Art (London). |

This collection is a wealth of information. Included are many notes on Anglo-Saxons, pronunciations & translations, their poetry, and notes for each of the songs. The tunes are broken up into categories, and are a wonderful example of historical harp music. The feel of the music is sparse, yet very powerful, and would be excellent when used as performance pieces, or simply for your own enjoyment. Intermediate lever harp, 83 pages. |

She is truly gifted with her ability to write music that seamlessly spans hundreds of years. The styles range from tango to Gregorian chant-like. The titles are: Cyanoblue Waltz - for John Metoyer; The Magician’s Birthday - for Ken Turner; Wise Woman Tango - for Linda Kleinschmidt; Walker in Two Worlds - for Manny Diaz; Miss Dondis and Miss Kelley; Processional - for Mary and Morri; Creole Girl Rag - for Pam Breaux; Planxty Neil Connelly; Equinox Lullaby - Dorian Vocalise for Tina; Quintessence - for Charles Coley; Romance for Flute and Harp - for John. 42 pgs. |

X.J. Kennedy cycle of poems, "The Beasts of Bethlehem," set to original music by Carol Wood. These simple poems, regarding the presence of animals at the Nativity, remind us of the unity of Creation and sacredness of Nature. Most of the songs are one or two pages in length. The music, written for alto voice, is soothing and evocative at the same time. The harp parts are easy to intermediate, requiring a full range lever harp with levers on F, C, G, D, and A. The accompaniments beautifully underlie and support both the melody and the words. A performance of this work would be a unique way to celebrate the holy days of December. Titles are: Prelude, Cow, Horse, Owl, Beetle, Hen, Hawk, Snail, Camel, Mouse, Cat, Hummingbird, Worm, Sheep, Animals' Lullaby, Bat, Mosquito, Ox, Ant, Goat and Donkey. 42 pgs. |
