Starfish Mamore

A Mamore in walnut. |
Starfish from Scotland is well known for their harps of high quality. The Mamore is the biggest Starfish harp model with 37 strings (folk gut). We are very proud that we may sell these beautiful harps in our shop.
The Mamore is a beautiful, well built harp with a rich sound and a lot of volume. With its 37 strings the Mamore has a larger reach than most Celtic harps (to the low G!). The harp is strung with folk gauge (non-pedal) gut, with the bass strings being metal-core with nickel windings. The string spacing is a little neater than concert spacing (approximately one tenth less). Therefore the harp can be played easily and fast. Starfish uses Delacour or Camac semitone levers on this harp.
There is a choice of American Black Walnut, American Cherry or Maple hardwoods. The ergonomic sound box is made from 11 solid timber staves. The soundboard is made from finest Bavarian spruce. Rather than individual feet, the harp has an integral base with rubber feet, making it very stable. It also has inserts to accept our harp stands. The harp comes complete with a rubber tuning key
We found a recording on the 'YouTube' website that gives a good impression of the sound of the Mamore:.
