Harp Builder Jon Letcher actually is a professional boat builder. Jon is very good at working with wood and because  he also greatly enjoys music, 25 years ago he began building musical instruments. To Jon the sound of the harp is the most important factor, but the appearance also has a high priority. The design of his harps is inspired by the shape of a Viking Boat.

His model Finlaggan 34 (with 34 strings) is available in Sycamore (maple), European Walnut, American Walnut and Cherry. The soundboard of the Finlaggan is made of solid Sitka Spruce. Standard, the Finlaggan is strung with nylon strings and steel bass strings, but on request it can also be strung with gut strings. He uses gold-colored Camac semitone levers for this harp model, but for an additional charge the elegant all-brass Truitt levers can be placed.
