Dusty Strings FH 26 double-strung package
With two banks of parallel strings, each with a full set of sharping levers, this double-strung harp offers a new level of creativity. Each hand has free access to the harp’s entire range, permitting arrangements that would typically require a much larger harp. Different lever settings, intricate arrangements, complex harmonies, and echo effects add to the potential techniques this harp can inspire.
The double-strung harp has 26 strings on each side, 3 ½ octaves, reaching from the C below middle C to G. A tuning wrench and a firm harp case are included, but a leg set is optional. Without the legs, the harp is 1 meter high. With legs 1.24 meter. It is available in maple and bubinga. The soundboard is made of solid Honduras mahogany overlaid with book-matched figured hardwood veneer. A firm harp case is included.
Beth Kollé has written a book especially for the double-strung harp. It contains information on double-strung harp history, harp techniques, doubling melodies, dividing melodies, overlapping chords, setting levers, repeated notes, left hand exercises, two-handed exercises, visual techniques, and practice arrangements. This book is available at De Zingende Snaar Harpen.
